🌻From February to March, I had the incredible opportunity to teach a Youth Ages 11-18 Self-Defense & Situational Awareness class at the Guys Mill Church Youth Center. It was a joyful and enriching experience for all involved! Our sessions included engaging discussions on situational awareness, where we explored various apps and games that enhance these skills. We also addressed the concept of "tricky people" versus strangers, a topic requested by the parents who also actively participated in our discussions.
💙Every child enthusiastically engaged in learning self-defense techniques. They practiced setting boundaries using both their bodies and voices, empowering them to feel more confident in various situations. The class fostered a supportive environment where children and parents learned together, reinforcing important safety concepts in a fun and interactive way.
💛The positive feedback from parents highlighted the value of this class, and it was immensely rewarding to witness the children's growth and development over these weeks. I'm looking forward to future opportunities to continue this important work with young learners.
